Friday Night Movie: The Abyss
If you haven’t seen the movie The Abyss yet, it’s time. And if you have, this 1986 classic deserves a revisit.
What exactly is down there at the bottom of our oceans?
Do our oceans have a bottom at all?
Are there other life forms down there that we don’t know about?
I have heard some amazing stories from some highly credible sources about what really lies in The Abyss.
Grab your pop corn, and watch this action packed thriller.
🚨SPOILER ALERT 🚨
Do not watch this clip if you have not seen this movie!

Hope it’s alright that I watched the Friday Night Movie on Saturday Night heading into Sunday. I dl’d it not realizing it’s included with Amazon Prime. I did see it in the theater when I was 30, but felt indifferent about it. It was a whole different experience almost 32 years later. The technology floored me from the beginning and just imagine where it is now. A lot of the black ops that would be present in an undertaking like what’s portrayed in the film had to be involved in the making, like NASA with 2001: A Space Odyssey. I checked the imdb page for the film and apparently the actors were very affected by the filming and not in a pleasant way. Prior to this past year and a half I would have been iffy about the NITs presented, but everything’s so off the charts now my mindset has shifted and nothing’s off the table. Dilara, thanks for the nudge to watch something that’s taken on new meaning 30+ years later. 🙏
Another outstanding suggestion. These movies are all soft disclosure.
